Thermal Testing (revisited)
Initial tests showed very low temperatures. However, in certain capture modes, one SOC runs warm. While not overheating, redesigning the case for active cooling might be a slightly safer route.

h1 4K/60 Input Test 1 - Capture Verification with MD5
PDF Results of Test #1 This first test shows a capture to the C++ memory buffer successful at 4k/60 with no frame loss.

h1 4K/60 Input Test 2 - Verify by using a Bit by Bit Pixel Dump
This second test will send a 2 minute HDR 10 video and use a bit comparison. Once completed, this test will prove no abnormal pixel data loss across thousands of frames. Each frame has had a textual overlay added that shows a frame counter (pre-built in FFmpeg).

Recent Updates
January 22, 2026
We have finalized the proposed hardware configuration for the early-access units at the introductory price point. While minor adjustments remain possible, no significant changes are expected. The system is based on NVIDIA's latest architecture, delivering performance comparable to the RTX 4060 (within 5%) while maintaining industry-leading power efficiency. This configuration provides ample headroom for more complex processing tasks without compromising the product's efficiency goals.
January 1, 2026
New prototyping hardware purchased for a better and higher quality build (AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS with AI NPU). We have abandoned the original prototype because its hardware and firmware did not pass all of our QC testing.
December 27, 2025
Full h1 input signal chain validated — 4K/60 with passthrough confirmed working. Audio capture also functional. 8-bit capture with 4:2:0/4:2:2/4:4:4 support verified; 10-bit will use tunneling approach.
December 25, 2025
Thermal testing complete — passive cooling solution performing excellently under heavy workloads. No throttling observed.
December 23, 2025
h1 input hardware confirmed operational. Remote access fully working. Evaluating video player options for the processing pipeline foundation.
December 2025
Hardware platform finalized. Custom Linux build selected for optimal hardware acceleration support. Storage and boot configuration validated.
